NightSHADE LB 985 Plant Imaging System
NightSHADE LB 985 Plant Imaging System
Berthold Technologies has developed the new NightSHADE imaging system with plant research in mind.
Applications
For applications such as gene research, circadian rhythms, regulation of plant growth, stress tolerance and drug screening the NightSHADE will offer you unique features. Low level Bioluminescence from luciferases as well as Chemiluminescence e.g. from luminol enhanced reactive oxygen species can be measured. Of course Fluorescence from GFP and other fluorescence dyes can be monitored in the NighSHADE, too.
Sample format
You can image small seedlings in Petri dishes or microplates, leaves, fungi, up to whole plants.
Cameras
You can select between three different instrument models: As entry level NightSHADE LULu is equipped with an sensitive emCCD camera for bio- and chemiluminescence measurements. For higher demands on luminescence sensitivity the NighSHADE IKLu is equipped with an supersensitive low noise CCD camera. The instrument of choice for both, luminescence and fluorescence measurements, is the NighSHADE LUFlu. The instrument - additionally to the emCCD camera - is equipped with an fluorescence unit including illumination and one GFP filter set.
Cabinet
The absolutely light-tight dark chamber is equipped with dual flange for multiport access. As standard the camera is mounted on the top and can be optionally mounted at side by using the camera conversion kit. The instrument can be equipped with two cameras, one on top and one at side, too.
Software
The indiGOTM software allows complete hardware control. Extensive tools for image evaluation such as zoom function, peak search, overlay, colour scale and surface plot are implemented. You can collect single pictures as well as image sequences. All images can be exported to TIF files. Raw data and processed data are filed separately according to GLP rules.
Accessories
Various accessories are available:

- X/Y Table
- Turn Table
- Turn table for square Petri dishes
