Flexibility and Precision
The qTOWER³ product family guarantees well-founded real-time results as it benefits from peerless temperature control precision in the sample block regardless of the number of samples used – the number of samples can range from 96 up to 384. The small 10.8" x 10.8” footprint makes it ideal for any lab.
The proven silver block technology of the qPCR cycler offers outstanding control precision and thanks to the gradient function, the device can be optimally adapted to new assays.
Unique flexibility is achieved through the proven filter module equipment, which can be freely configured and expanded at any time and enables measurement of up to 6 color modules. The retrofitting option ensures that users can also integrate future innovative developments from Analytik Jena.
The qTOWER³ is available either as a stand-alone device with integrated touchscreen operation (10“) or as a computer-aided system. To meet the steadily growing sample volumes and new requirements for quantitative real-time PCR the qTOWER³ is also obtainable in a multiwell format with 384 samples. The qTOWER³ 84 takes all the strengths of the qTOWER³ and transfers its precise performance to the high-throughput format, enabling new applications in gene expression, mutation analysis and diagnostics.
Technology Highlights
Superior temperature performance by proven block technology
The sample block forms the basis for the reliable performance of quantitative real-time PCR analysis. Powered by proven Biometra block technology, high quality block materials and advanced Peltier technology provide unsurpassed temperature control accuracy and excellent temperature uniformity across the qTOWER³ sample block for either 96 or up to 384 samples. This not only provides excellent data accuracy, but shortens the run times of qPCR programs, contributing to complete user confidence. To ensure highest specificity for different assays, the instrument is equipped with a gradient function. Depending on the cycler model, the temperature gradient function allows the evaluation of 12 or 24 annealing temperatures to determine the best reaction conditions for multiple primer sets in a single run to ensure efficient specific amplification of all targets.

Continuously unambiguous results through patented fiber optic system
In the application area of quantitative real-time PCR, a wide range of fluorescent dyes with different characteristics are used. In order to achieve an excellent data quality of fluorescent measurements, the qTOWER³ family is equipped with a patented fiber optic detection system (FOS – fiber-optic system). The 8 or 16 optical fibers provide homogeneous illumination and read-out of each individual well for exact, meaningful results.
A novel (RGBW) light source in combination with a sensitive Photo-multiplier tube (PMT) detector and a finely tuned set of excitation and emission filters guarantees optimized excitation for each individual sample while detecting the emitted fluorescent signals with extraordinary homogeneity. The ability to change or retrofit color modules increases the flexibility in the choice of fluorescent dyes that can be used to perfectly meet your current and future requirements for multiplex applications.
