Vilber Fusion Absolute
The First Imaging System With Absolute Protein Quantification
Absolute imaging, limitless research. The Vilber Fusion Absolute is the first ultra-precise photon-counting imaging system that delivers effortless absolute quantification through NIST-Traceable Calibration. By measuring light irradiance in photons/s/pixel and referencing certified standards, it ensures unmatched accuracy, reproducibility, and cross-condition comparability. Unlike relative methods that only report fold-changes between samples, absolute quantification provides precise, reliable values in absolute units, transforming your workflows with standardized protocols and directly comparable data.
Calibrated Photon Counting Optics
The Fusion Absolute quantifies the incident light on each protein band detected on a membrane, providing an estimate of the light power received per unit area (photons/s/cm²). Measuring irradiance overcomes the need to adjust binning, lens aperture, or exposure time, since it directly reflects the amount of light reaching the membrane surface. AI-defined regions of interest (ROIs) identify each band, and calibration curves based on NIST-traceable standards convert detected light into an absolute quantity of protein.
Absolute NIST Traceable Calibration Imaging is based on traceable references provided by the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST).
Exceptional Performance
Trusted by Nobel Prize winners and prestigious institutes worldwide, the Fusion range owes its reputation to state-of-the-art optics. The Fusion Absolute combines a custom f/0.70 aperture lens (the smaller the f-number, the better) with a deeply cooled CCD scientific camera for the best possible images without background noise. Its wide linear dynamic range captures both strong and weak signals in a single exposure, ensuring accurate quantification of low-concentration proteins.
· Widest f/0.70 aperture: maximum sensitivity at picogram level
· Absolute cooling up to -65°C (FX7): via multi-stage Peltier
· Scientific grade 16-bit CCD camera: capturing 65,535 grey levels
· Wide linear dynamic range: 4.8 OD
Multispectral Imaging And Multiplexing
While traditional chemiluminescent Western blots target one protein at a time, the system's epifluorescence capabilities enable multispectral imaging, so you can target and visualize two or more proteins within a single protocol. Nine Absolute Spectra Capsules (365, 440, 480, 540, 580, 640, 680, 740, and 780 nm) sit precisely on the spectrum of your dye to avoid crosstalk, and each module is equipped with premium emission filters exhibiting a flat wavelength peak for enhanced illumination uniformity. A powerful N.M.F. (non-negative matrix factorization) unmixing algorithm solves crosstalk and autofluorescence issues for more accurate detection in multi-labeled samples.
