MONITOR 4EC (mR/hr standard, uSv/hr meter scale upon request)
The Monitor 4EC is an energy compensated, ergonomic radiation survey meter capable of detecting alpha, beta, gamma, and x-rays over 3 selectable ranges. A red count light flashes and a beep sounds with each event detected. The Monitor 4EC offers a linear response for gamma and x-rays (above 40 keV).
Applications & Uses: Checking accelerator & x-ray shielding for leakage, Checking industrial gauges, such as moisture, density, or level gauges containing Cesium-137, Locating sources, Personal protection, General surveying
Features
Detector: Halogen-quenched uncompensated GM tube with thin mica window 1.5-2.0 mg/cm2 thick. Effective diameter of window is 9.1 mm (.36 in.).

Accuracy: Typically ±15% from factory, ±10% with NIST Source Calibration (referenced to Cs-137)
Energy Sensitivity: 1000 CPM/mR/hr (Cs137). 1000 CPM/mR/hr (Cs137). Detects alpha down to 2.5 MeV; typical detection efficiency at 3.6 MeV is greater than 80%. Detects beta at 50 keV with typical 35% detection efficiency and beta at 150 keV with typical 75% detection efficiency. Detects gamma and x-rays down to 10 keV typical through the window (non-compensated), 40 keV through the sidewall.
Range Switch: X1, X10, X100, Battery Check.
Display: Analog Meter holds full scale in fields as high as 100X maximum reading. CPM & mR/hr scale. Optional SI Scale Meter Available
Audio: Internally mounted beeper (can be switched off for silent operation).
Outouts: 3.5 mm jack with pulse out.
Power Requirements: One 9-volt alkaline battery. Battery life is up to 2,000 hours at normal background radiation levels
